Along with tweeds, leather and heaps of layers, another of our most favorite things has returned: APPLES duh. The Ripe Apples are back from summer vacation and its time to cut the friendship bracelets.

With the return of the fall (fashion) season TRA would like to introduce you to the designer of Blank Silk, Meghan Walsh. Eyebrows painted fierce and her skin powdered porcelain, Ms. Walsh specializes in chiffon induced glamour. Have a glimpse of Meghan dancing for our camera on her way back to India…

TRA:  Explain the evolution of Meghan Walsh and how it led to Blank Silk. I know you devoted a lot of time and talent to art even in grade school. Was it a natural progression into clothing design for you?

MW: I have studied many things, which I feel accumulated to a natural evolution, which is now Blank Silk by Meghan Walsh. With my studies, endeavors, interests and travels revolving around music, art, philosophy, and global awareness/philanthropy I truly feel that my current state is a life realization and destiny. Starting with interests in singing, art, and the theatre from a small age, studies of fine art and philosophy during university, expanding my art and philanthropy while living in NYC, and now executing the ultimate vision globally via India has all come about through good intent, hard work, and passion.  Blank Silk is an absolute natural progression stemming from experiences and guidance in life itself.

SO FRESH ‘N SO CLEAN (CLEAN)

This post has nothing to do with Outcast except they wrote a song whose title sums up how I like my food. Just like the above picture has nothing to do with my post except the “happy to be on an island” expression you see on the subjects faces.

Please note that while Evan suggested we turn this into a fashion shoot of me in the great outdoors, I cooly declined as I did not want to distract from the food! Just kidding. That never happened. If you must know the look we were going for was “Dining in your bathing suit…right next to the outdoor shower.”  Life can be so hard.

So here’s how the food situation goes down on an island with nothing but our bikes and our snouts to lead us to the grub.  The stake out for local, Stankonia style freshness in my chow ingredients is of primo importance.  I’m pretty much positive its why people call me a food snob. So fresh and so clean clean is the way to be. I wanna know where that shiz is coming from. Sorry Shelter but your IGA Grocery Store just ain’t gonna cut it.  Must. Find. Bombassfreshfood. Elsewhere.

THE RJ RUSHMORE INTERVIEW

Mr. Rushmore has a cool haircut.   He likes his street art.  And like most of the artists, he works for free.  I think we have ourselves a wonderkind cause the dude is twenty and VANDALOG is running shit.

TRA: So how was the flight back to London? Were you stuck in a middle seat?

RJ: Not bad…got an aisle seat.  Delta sucks a lot less than people say.

TRA: Ha. So how did Vandalog come about?  What was the inspiration other than your obvious love of art?

RJ: I started Vandalog for two main reasons: 1. So my dad would only need to read one art blog.  He and I love a lot of the same art, but he wouldn’t have time to read a bunch of blogs to try and keep up to date on everything.  So with Vandalog, he can (hopefully) read about everything that would interest him.

2. I didn’t get the Editor-in-chief position at my high school newspaper and it was my senior year, so I figured I’d half-ass the position I did have on the paper and start a blog.
